From 1st January 2026 all children attending for routine childhood immunisations aged 12 months and older will be offered an MMRV vaccine.
This is Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chicken pox) and replaces the current MMR vaccine.
Children who were born on or after 1.1.2020 who have already received 2 doses of MMR vaccine will be invited for a booster of MMRV from November 2026.
